Welcome to the long game!

Ever play Monopoly as a kid growing up with family or friends? Remember don’t pass go, don’t collect $200, go directly to jail, or maybe the goodie, the “Get out of Jail free card!!!” How many of you can even remember finishing a complete game of Monopoly? And that’s the point! 

The same people that never finished a complete game of Monopoly (about 90%) are the same ones you are competing against in the real game of Monopoly. So now you know. You are only competing against 10% of all businesses in your space. Unless your population area is growing, then to gain market share, someone has to lose it. I like calling this part of business #MESS – Most Extreme Sport, Sales! In sales, if someone is eating, then someone else is starving. 

Running a business is hard work, you have to wear many hats and your schedule is 24/7. You can fool yourself into thinking I’ll only work these days or hours, but if you’ve ever run a business, or started something from the ground up, you know that you never stop thinking about it. What moves to make, what markets to enter, what message to present, what promotions to run. This list goes on and on, but if you collect your ideas, then execute them in sprints, it helps to put a little bit of the power / control back in your hands.
